Business Transactions and Litigation

From organizing a new business, to providing advice on employment issues, to drafting and  reviewing contracts, John provides legal counsel on a wide variety of issues to businesses throughout the area.

Education Law

John has served as general counsel to Crowder College for over twenty years. He has also provided legal services to several public school districts in Southwest Missouri.

Workers’ Compensation

John has represented both employers and injured employees extensively before the Division of  Workers’ Compensation throughout Missouri.

Civil Litigation

John has represented hundreds of individuals in state and federal court in Missouri and Oklahoma on a multitude of legal issues such as personal injury, adoptions, debtor’s rights, creditor’s rights, landlord / tenant disputes, contract disputes, discrimination claims, guardianships, and probate of estates.

Civil Mediation

Missouri encourages the use of alternative dispute resolution procedures such as mediation to resolve civil disputes before a trial is necessary.  Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17 provides that attorneys with the requisite training or experience may qualify to be listed as a Rule 17 mediator.  John has qualified and is listed as a general civil mediator on the Missouri Bar Association Rule 17 list of neutrals.
